The Educational Service Center serves as the headquarters for the Minneapolis Public School system – the largest school district in Minnesota. The project rests on approximately 6.4 acres of redeveloped land located in North Minneapolis. It includes a 165,000 square foot multi-story building with 535 parking stalls, delivered in a true design-build environment.
Landform worked in close coordination with the Architect, General Contractor, and Minneapolis Public Schools to minimize the impact of the development on the surrounding urban environment. Pervious pavements reduce runoff, roof runoff is captured in a 30,000 gallon cistern for irrigation, and subsurface retention systems allow for the control of storm water release down to pre-settlement levels. The project team is pursuing LEED® Silver accreditation.
