Frauenshuh Cancer Center
The Frauenshuh Cancer Center is a patient care center located on the Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital campus. The facility is situated in bustling St. Louis Park, and it lies adjacent to a particularly beautiful portion of restored Minnehaha Creek.
Landform designed the garden and provided landscape architecture and civil engineering services to initially construct the garden as part of larger campus-wide improvements. The garden is a living, growing, seasonal space that has become popular with staff, patients, and wildlife alike.
The center of the site is serene with a healing garden, two acres of green space, and over 250 new trees. Landform led site design efforts and through 2017 provided ongoing consulting for the healing garden and grounds to maintain the original design intent as new facilities are added to the campus.
Landform continues to act as the consultant landscape architect and provides annual design services with each spring to guide maintenance and incorporate new elements, such as donated plaques or sculptures, and to update and fill in planting materials as needed. A recent addition to the garden included six lady slipper plants, all of which are currently thriving.
