Manned Aircraft Operations

Go further with Landform’s Manned Aircraft Operations.

Why does Landform have an airplane?

There are several reasons why Landform would require owning an airplane. A few of the advantages and benefits are:

  • Convenience and time-saving: Owning an airplane can be an efficient means of transportation for our clients and team members. By having our own aircraft, we can avoid the hassle and time-consuming nature of commercial airline travel by avoiding layovers, long security lines, crowded airports, and potential delays and cancellations.
  • Efficiency: An airplane allows our Aerial Operations Team to depart more timely to meet our clients who may not be in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. This time savings ultimately reduces costs compared to traditional commercial travel.
  • Remote locations: We have clients with projects or sites in remote or hard-to-reach locations. This helps us reduce travel time and enables our team to access these locations more easily, allowing us to operate more efficiently.
  • Cover more in less time: An airplane can save time by allowing our team to cover large areas or distances between sites quickly. This is particularly beneficial if our client needs us to cover several locations within a short timeframe. With an airplane, the team can cover more ground in less time, which can help the business be more efficient.
  • Cost-effective: In some cases, using an airplane for surveys may be more cost-effective than other modes of transport, such as hiring multiple cars or trucks or using helicopters. This is particularly true if the business needs to cover large areas or multiple locations within a short period.
  • Increased flexibility and freedom: With our airplane, you have the flexibility to fly wherever and whenever you want without being restricted by airline policies or regulations.

Recently our team needed to fly to Cleveland Heights, Ohio, to do an update for our client, Flaherty & Collins, at their $80M mixed-use development, The Ascent At Top Of The Hill.  Our team’s ability to fly directly to the site was a tremendous cost-saving for our client.

Overall, the Landform Drone/LiDAR/Manned Aircraft Operations team having an airplane provides us with a wide range of advantages that can improve our efficiency, accuracy, and safety while reducing costs for our clients.
